Beautybay.com Beauty Haul #6

Another one of my distraction orders last weekend arrived this morning, I went on BeautyBay.com with the original idea to purchase a new OPI nail envy in the hopes it'll help my poor nails recover from the damage being ill for the past month or so has caused them but also ended up stocking up on more of my favourite OPI hand cream and a beautiful polish for Spring.  

Superdrug Beauty Haul #5

Trying to distract myself from my essay at the weekend lead me to take a nosy online and as usual I found myself on the superdrug website and within minutes I had a basket full ready to checkout. I got some items I've been wanting for a while and as always I ordered at least one impulse item.

March Spending Ban

After thinking it over I've decided to attempt a spending ban for the whole of March, so no treating myself to new beauty products, clothes or accessories. 

I'll admit when I first had the idea I had a slight irrational panic about how I would cope but after giving myself a good talking too I realised how silly I was being, it's only 31 days and I'm sure it'll do wonders for my bank balance. 

I have 2 main reasons for putting myself on a spending ban.

1. My bedroom is starting to become overrun by beauty products thanks to my bargain hunting and my beauty box samples 

And 

2. Its my Birthday and Mother's Day next month and Mr H has been asking for ideas but I don't have a clue what I want so in stopping myself from buying things it might just help me help him. 

So expect a few 'I want' & wishlist blog posts and more product reviews while I try to work my way through the ton of samples I have already to keep my mind off spending my pennies. 

And just to make me feel better Mr H has agreed to having a spending ban the month of his birthday too, bless him.

So as of 1st March no spending for me :) 

Aprils Glamour Magazine Freebie

As its nearly the end of the month my Glamour magazine arrived on my doormat bright and early this morning and I was surprised to find a freebie included.

The freebie is a ModelCo eye liner pencil with in-built sharpener in black with an RRP of £11.00 so its a pretty good freebie as Glamour is only £2 a magazine. 

In the magazine itself, there is also a sample of the new Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream and a H&M 25% off Card; which will come in handy in treating my girls to a few new bits & pieces for spring & summer.

Monday Beauty Haul #4

A massive sigh of relief was all that could be heard through our house this morning when I finally submitted my psychology essay for marking, thank god my tutor is understanding and allowed me a weeks extension or it would never have been finished. 

Now its time for me to change my focus and crack on with my social science essay which is due a week on Monday, wish me luck lovelies. Thankfully it's just a mini essay at just 750 words, my plan is done just need to figure out how to start the thing now. But for what's left of my day I'm going to relax and enjoy the noise of my girls wreaking the house lol, don't you just love half term. 

While proof reading my psych essay at the weekend I got alittle distracted by boots online and ordered a few beauty treats I've been wanting to try out and as it was 3for2 I couldn't think of a better time for it. So when I received my email to say my parcel was ready to collect from my high street Boots, Mr H offered to go and pick it up for me (he'll do anythink to escape the chaos lol).

Baking Saturdays

Sunny lazy saturdays always meant baking days when I was little and its a tradition I've tried to carry on with my little family so as I've been watching James Martin's Home Comforts while suffering from yet another cold I decided to bite the bullet and treat Mr H and the girls to some home cooking once my sainsburys food shopping arrived that is (god bless the home delivery service).

Mid-week Beauty Haul #3

After spending the last few weeks ill and with an essay due in just over a week I've been feeling alittle down and stressed out so Mr H decided to take me out for breakfast and alittle shopping trip today to cheer me up and calm me down. So after a naughty but very yummy breakfast of pancakes, bacon and maple syrup at Frankie & Bennys off we went to our nearest TK Maxx, one my favourite stores to just wander round and take a good old nosy at all the reduced beauty and household goodies.

Belated Valentines Day Post.

We don't really celebrate Valentines Day in our house instead we tend to buy ourselves a few treats before the day instead. I do however always get a bouquet of white roses every year which are my favourites.

Glossybox February Box

Morning my lovelies hope you all had a fabulous weekend.

Personally mine was pretty stressful, Saturday morning started with me running late for my 5 hours tutorial to arrive and find the start time had changed so I was an hour early and then Mr H's car died and now doesn't look like it can be saved. And Sunday was spent trying to get past my writers block and to try to figure out what to do about Mr H's car.

Birchbox February Box

My Birchbox arrived Friday and I wasn't quite sure how their Febuary box was going to beat the January box I received and for me I'm afraid this month box is a little bit of a letdown. 

As its London Fashion Week this months box theme is Love Style and is all about loving your own style and how style isn't just about fashion but about your individual lifestyle.

Well we all survived January so yay for us and as it's the start of a new month it can only mean one thing a new YouBeauty box menu. If your new to the concept of Beauty Boxes, with YouBeauty you pay £6.95 inc p&p monthly and pick 2 beauty items to try for the menu which changes every month. 

February's menu is called Red Carpet Glamour, with products that are designed to make you look your best on Valentines Day. I could of quite happily picked 2 or 3 boxes but I promised myself i would stick to just one with Valentines Day coming up.
